Majora's Mask

Zelda only appears once in Majora's Mask, in the form of a memory. Yet even though her screentime is short, it has enough time to imply a lot.

Narrator: ...Suddenly, memories of Princess Zelda come rushing back to you...

Zelda: You are already leaving this land of Hyrule, aren't you? Even though it was a short time, I feel like I've known you forever. I'll never forget the days we spent together in Hyrule... And I believe in my heart that a day will come when I shall meet you again... Until that day comes, please... Take this...

(gives Link the Ocarina of Time)

Zelda: I am praying...

I am praying that your journey be a safe one. If something should happen to you, remember this song...

This reminds me of us...

(plays Song of Time)

Narrator: You remembered the Song of Time!

This melody, lingering on the edges of your mind, is a song of memories of Princess Zelda.

Comments

Once again, Zelda gives Link the Ocarina of Time, the heirloom of the Royal Family. ...A very precious object, as it has the power to manipulate time and access the Master Sword. She trusts him that much, even though her memory of the events in OoT are still fuzzy.

This reminds me of us... Us, not "you," us. Obviously, she's become attached, and even mentions that she knows in her heart they'll see each other again.

The Song of Time is the most used ocarina song in Majora's Mask. And who is it a memory of...? Princess Zelda. It is clear that Zelda plays an important role in Link's journey through Termina and, overall, his life.
