EVENT
It has been 100 years since the last Gerudo male was born. Ganondorf Dragmire, destined King of the Gerudo, is born. Witches Koume and Kotake become surrogate mothers to the child. [ The current King of the Gerudo dies or is assassinated, more than likely by Koume and Kotake. ] Hyrule is plunged into a world war. All races save the Kokiri have entered into the war. Link is born. Wounded from a raid, Link's mother seeks sanctuary in Kokiri Forest and, dying, leaves him in the care of the Great Deku Tree. [ Link's father, a knight of Hyrule, dies in battle. ] Princess Zelda is also born around this time. [ Zelda's mother dies in childbirth or while Zelda is still young. ] The war ends. [ The remainder of the Sheikah die out or have been killed in the war. Impa is the sole survivor. ] Link is raised as a Kokiri, unaware of his true heritage. Link is summoned by the Great Deku Tree and leaves the forest. He meets Hyrule's princess, Zelda, who enlists his help to stop Ganondorf, now King of the Gerudo, from entering the Sacred Realm and stealing the Triforce. At night Ganondorf attacks the castle and slays the King. Zelda gives Link the Ocarina of Time before escaping with Impa. Obeying Zelda's request, Link uses the three Spiritual Stones he gathered to reach the Master Sword and open the Sacred Realm. Ganondorf follows Link and touches the Triforce, breaking it into three. Power remains with him while Wisdom and Courage find two other hosts. Because Link is still too young to weild the Master Sword, he goes into a deep slumber and his body remains in the Sacred Realm, cared for by the Sage of Light, Rauru. Ganondorf takes over the whole of Hyrule, releasing monsters into the temples and the towns. He continues his search for the other two pieces of the Triforce. Impa and Zelda remain in hiding. Zelda trains with Impa in the ways of the Sheikah. Zelda, disguised as a male Sheikah, serves under Ganondorf. (Suggested in the manga.) Link awakens after 7 years to find Hyrule in ruin. Zelda, as Sheik, guides Link through the six temples where he awakens the Sages. Zelda reveals her true identity to Link and tells him of her role as the Seventh Sage. She also reveals that the Triforce of Courage has chosen him, and that she possesses the Triforce of Wisdom. Zelda is captured by Ganondorf and Link rushes to save her. He defeats Ganondorf as well as his mutated form, Ganon. The seven Sages seal Ganondorf in the Sacred Realm, but Power is left in his possession and the Triforce cannot be restored. (This is later referred to as the Imprisoning War in A Link to the Past, though some details are conflicting.) Apologizing for his time lost in the Sacred Realm, Princess Zelda sends Link back 7 years to relive his childhood. |

EVENT
After the events in Ocarina of Time, Link goes immediately to the castle to see Zelda. Her memory is clouded, but she feels she knows Link and entrusts him once again with the Ocarina of Time. Now that the evil has been defeated and Link knows of his true origins, Navi leaves. Link is crushed by this and sets out with Epona to find her. Traveling through the Lost Woods, Link is forced to enter the alternate world of Termina after Skullkid rides off with his horse. However, when Link enters Termina, the Triforce of Courage shatters and is distributed across Hyrule. (Suggested in The Wind Waker.) As a joke, Skullkid curses Link turning him into a Deku Scrub. Not only must Link retrieve Epona, he must now restore himself to normal. All of this is made even more difficult by Skullkid who possesses Majora's Mask and is summoning the Moon down to earth. With only three days to stop him, Link must utilize masks of his own and manipulate time. Gathering all of the masks, Link exchanges them for the ultimate weapon - the Fierce Diety Mask. He uses this final and fearsome transformation to defeat Majora's Mask and save Termina from peril. With Epona by his side, yet still no Navi, Link journeys back to Hyrule. A sorcerer is responsible for wreaking havoc on the country. Zelda summons Link to defeat the sorcerer, yet the disasters plaguing Hyrule do not end. The sorcerer was being controlled by the evil blade Soul Edge, which exists in another world. Link once again pulls the Master Sword from its pedestal and enters the other world to destroy Soul Edge and return peace to Hyrule. [ Ganondorf reappears and Link rises to battle the King of Evil. (Suggested by The Wind Waker and E3 2000's Zelda demo.) ] After this Hyrule enjoys many years of peace and prosperity. |
