Random Facts

Anything that relates to the Zelda series that doesn't fit anywhere else is in this section. Yep. This section right here. Now read all the crap I wrote.

The Power Puff Girls

Link appears in the episode Child Fearing of PPG! ^.^ The following transcript (slightly edited by me) was found here.

Link is standing in a corridor, whose walls he keeps running into. Over his shoulder is a white blob with wings that occasionally cries "Hey!" After several seconds, a large stone block falls on him, and the message "You Just Lost Five Lives..." appears while he revives. Now he begins to swing his sword randomly, finally hitting the winged blob. Message: "You just killed your own Fairy. Start Over?" Pull back to reveal the Mayor, playing this game in his office.

Mayor: Ohhh...blast it! (The phone rings; he answers it impatiently.) Yes?...Uh-huh...Sure, a babysitter...Okay, I'll be right over. Bye. (He taps the hook and dials a new number.) Hello, Warden? I need a babysitter...Yeah, yeah, yeah, full pardon. Bye. (He hangs up and goes back to his game.) Oh, rats! Darn fairy!

The Rabbit Joint

I'm sure everyone is aware by now, but if you are not, The Rabbit Joint has made a short song based on the Zelda series. Lyrics are here for your reading pleasure. :D

Fruit Snacks

You can bite Link's head off if you pick up a box of Nintendo fruit snacks. Mwahaha.... o.O; My friend had these once and they're actually pretty good. (If I'm thinking correctly...it's been a while.) They weren't hard and chewy like most fruit snacks. They were more gummy bear-ish. So...good buy?

SSB Melee

Link has 5 different colored tunics in Melee: green, blue, red, black, and periwinkle. (Can someone please tell me WHY they chose periwinkle? Why not white or gray or something?) Young Link sports the same tunics, but his colors are brighter.

SSB Melee also marks the first time the player can control Sheik, Ganondorf, and Zelda (not counting the CD-i games, of course).

Animal Crossing

In the game Animal Crossing, it is possible to get Anju's shirt as an outfit, along with Kaffe's (and yes, they do spell it wrong). On the back wall of Katrina the Fortune Teller's tent is a picture of the Triforce. The pedestal and Master Sword (like the trophy in SSB Melee) are also an item to collect.

The following found at IGN.com:

§ Kapp'n asks if you've ever spent a night in a Hyrulian jail. This is a reference to two things: the Zelda video games, which take place in Hyrule, and the movie "Airplane," in which a character asks if someone has ever spent a night in a Turkish prison.

§ Gulliver recalls a fight with sea snakes at Pinnacle Rock, then realizes it wasn't him that fought. This is a reference to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

§ When you look through some characters' dressers, it says "You found 100 Rupees! But you can't use them here." This is a reference to the Zelda games, which use rupees as money.

§ If your character catches a loach, he will exclaim "I caught a loach! Too bad it's not Hylian...". This refers to the Hylian Loach in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Gannon University

Did you know there's a college called Gannon University? Seriously, I got a letter from them. :o They're located in Pennsylvania, so if you live there, this might just be the college for you.

Got Lon Lon?

A milk ad made by Cat. :)

The Wind Waker

The Wind Waker marks the first time Link speaks in a game. Though not in actual text, he yells out, "C'mon!" XD It's the cutest thing.

The Matrix Reloaded

In the movie, Link's girlfriend's name is Zee. Coincidence? Uh...maybe. I dunno. We can pretend it's not. ;)

Maybe video games just take up too much of my life, but I noticed other names, like (Commander) Lock and Cypher. If you're a Final Fantasy freak, you will immediately associate them with Locke from FFVI and Seifer from FFVIII. Really now...how often do you hear those names?
