This is the little section telling you about some of Zidane's closest friends. I am aware that I am missing quite a few characters, so I will be adding them soon. Sorry!

Garnet and Zidane... hmmm... Ok. Garnet and Zidane are the main characters of the game, however, I there is obviously also a deeper relationship between them. Although in the earlier parts of the game, there seem to be a lot of arguments between them, but eventually, they will be closer, especially after all the times that Zidane tries to make Garnet feel special. In case you haven't noticed, every Final Fantasy game seems to have a little love triangle, (eg. FFVII : Cloud, Tifa and Aeris, FFVIII : Squall, Rinoa, and Quistis) and in FFIX, it happens to be between Zidane, Garnet and Eiko in ways. However, despite the differences between Zidane and Garnet, it is quite obvious that these two can be great friends...

Name: Vivi Ornitier

Weapon: Black Magic/ Mage Staff

Vivi and Zidane meet quite early in the game. They first met when Zidane and his freinds were putting on the play, and Vivi just ran onto the stage. Ever since then, Vivi tagged along with the group, hoping to find answers about the black mages. Vivi is a young black mage, and you can see that Zidane purposely tries to be nice to him. However, even though they have such a big age gap, these two seem to be quite compatible with each other... definitely can, and are friends.

Blank and Zidane both work with a bunch of thieves, going by the name of Tantalus. Although Blank is not a main character, nor is he a character you really control... it seems that Zidane and Blank have a pretty good relationship as friends. On disc one, before Zidane begins his trip to look for Garnet, there was a short moment when Blank was giving Zidane a few pointers. It doesn't seem like they get along very well... but you can see that they are actually pretty good friends. Just a while later, Blank arrives to help Zidane in killing a monster plant, and as a result, risks his life to get Zidane out of the forest. When the plant was killed, the entire Evil forst was paralyzed, and because Blank was trying to save Zidane and his gang, Blank was caught in the paralyzation. A very noble and friendly thing to do indeed.

Name: Freya Cresent

Weapon: Spear?

Freya and Zidane seem to have been friends before the game started. Apparently, Freya had been searching for her lost love for 5 years ago, since he left to fight General Beatrix. Flatley, never returned and Freya had been desperatly searching for him. Somehow, Zidane and Freya were seperated and had only been able to meet up lately when Zidane was talking to a girl in a bar. Freya later decided to join the group when she hears of the problems in her hometown. Zidane basically respects Freya because of her skills as a fighter and her determination as a person.

ok ok! I know STEINER should be here... but I just don't see them as friends... they're more like enemies as Steiner dislikes Zidane. He feels that Zidane is simply helping Garnet because of 'specific' reasons, which is not true. Therefore, I'm not adding him here... they may become friends later on, but honestly, I don't see them as friends from what I know ^_~;;
